Pastor Thomas was educated in the Frederick County School System Frederick, Maryland and later joined the U.S. Army in September of 1982. His military career would ultimately lead him to Fort Stewart, Georgia in 1995 where he would eventually retire on May 1, 2004. Brother Thomas preached his first sermon on May 2, 2004 becoming Minister Thomas and received his license from Pastor Hermon Scott. On October 21, 2007 Minister Thomas was ordained as a Baptist Preacher under Pastor Scott’s leadership.

On August 17, 2012 after 120 years of ministry, extended time was invested in fasting, prayer and seeking God’s guidance. We are extremely blessed to transform “Friendship Missionary Baptist Church” into a non-denominational worship center, “Thee Living Word”. The name “Thee Living Word” was founded on love, God’s Word, and a passion for humanity. It continues to operate with this same spirit of purpose today. As a result, “Thee Living Word” has become one of the fastest growing churches in the region and continues to experience remarkable growth.

On September 12, 2010 Pastor Thomas was recognized for his Kingdom Building Work with an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from the C.E. Sullivan Theological Seminary in Douglas, Georgia.

He is honored to be married to Minister Felecia L. Thomas. They have been married for 32 years. She has her undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Arts (Speech) from the University of Florida.
